Running My First Fashion Program
As some of you may know, I have had many jobs in fashion. One of the jobs I had was with Formal Envy Boutique as a Bridal Consultant. Within the first month of working there, I decided to pitch an idea to my boss. The idea was to start a Spokesmodel Program, where the Boutique hires girls in local high schools and universities, who advertise the store and the dresses we sell on their social media. My boss loved the idea, and asked if I wanted to run the program. I was so honored, after being an employee for only a short time there and given this great opportunity. The best part about this program, is that when we have our meetings or actual shoots with the girls, it's crazy to think that in just a few years, I could be doing something like this for a living. This program has taught me a lot on how to act as a leader, think on my feet, and about bridal as a whole. Upon having an internship at Ava Laurénne Bride last year, I have learned a great deal about Bridal. Working as a consultant at Formal Envy, I learned even more in the aspect of actually working with a bride to find her dream dress. Even though our spokesmodels aren't brides, when each of them walked in, I went for a dress that I felt like they could sell in their photos, and that they would look and feel beautiful in. I treated them the way I would treat a bride coming in to find her dress. This industry always has had such a positive and friendly environment, which is why I love it so much. Although I am still unsure what branch I'd like to pursue a career in, bridal is definitely a contender.
Sadly, I will have to bid adieu to bridal for some time. I had to give up one of my jobs to focus on academics and athletics. I'm saddened to be leaving the boutique, as well as the spokes model program, but I know that our spokes models will do amazing as the program continues. They are amazing individuals, who have are beautiful inside and out.
